Actors From The London Stage return to campus this year with a venerable favorite, Hamlet. Shakespeare's most well known tragedy tells a complicated yet timeless tale of treachery, madness, and murder. Following the recent and sudden death of his father, the King of Denmark, Prince Hamlet is called home to attend both his father's funeral and his mother Gertrude's impending wedding to his Uncle Claudius, the King's own brother. Infuriated by his mother's disloyalty, Hamlet fumes until the ghost of his father visits him. The ghost informs young Hamlet that Gertrude and Claudius in fact murdered him, and begs Hamlet to avenge his wrongful death. As he struggles to balance his own moral integrity with his thirst for vengeance, Prince Hamlet feigns madness with his family and friends, and weaves a convoluted plan for revenge that can only end disastrously.
