Bill Boris Trio at TGIF: Music in the Gardens
August 4, 2006
Add Review/CommentThe Bill Boris Trio, playing edgy jazz reminiscent of Miles Davis, are the featured performers at this TGIF: Music in the Gardens. Bill Boris, a virtuoso guitarist, knows that having a guitar as part of a jazz trio is not only different, but also adds a unique flavor to their music. The group has worked with such legends as Irene Reed and Charles Earland, and are regulars in the sound scenes of Chicago. Sure to please, this standard jazz trio also features piano and drums. The event is co-hosted by the Northern Indiana Center for History and 88.1 WVPE Public Radio. TGIF is sponsored by 1st Source Bank, the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, and Gibson Insurance Group/Auto One Insurance. TGIF guests are invited to bring lawn chairs or blankets. Food and beverages will be sold. No carry-in foods or beverages are permitted. The event will be held rain or shine. Corporate table packages may be purchased by calling the Center for History. The Center for History’s exhibit, Rockne: Crossing the Last Chalk Line, will be open to TGIF guests for a special discounted admission. The lush grounds of Copshaholm provide a perfect setting for TGIF: Music in the Gardens. Copshaholm is the 1896 home built for industrialist J. D. Oliver and his family. The mansion’s surrounding 2 ½ acres of gardens, in full bloom at this time of year, offer a fragrant backdrop to the evening of music.
