You may not know that your neighborhood paperboy is scheming to become the king of Scotland. Or that the young girl next door is throwing love notes over a balcony in Verona. How about your postman dividing his kingdom between his three seemingly ungrateful daughters? Surprises await you in every performance of ShakesScenes as local community members, high school students and grade schoolers present a collection of short scenes taken from the works of Shakespeare. ShakeScenes was created specifically to give area actors and directors the opportunity to immerse themselves in “playing” Shakespeare. We believe that providing an active and immediate experience around some of the greatest plays in the English language can help foster a love of Shakespeare that will last a lifetime. Join us for ShakeScenes 2006 and discover why, year after year, it’s one of our most popular events!
