Steve Foresman - Beutter Park Concert Series
July 13, 2006
Add Review/CommentPerforming over 100 shows per year, Steve Foresman, appearing solo or with The Steve Foresman Band, has become the gold standard in the Michiana area for live music performance. His impeccable vocal style and his striking guitar technique are immediately recognizable. Whether he's wailing out a full-tilt rocker on his electric guitar or singing a moody ballad with that patented velvet baritone, no one delivers from the stage quite like Steve. His stagecraft and sound, honed over 10 years of constant performance, are the envy of many area musicians. Steve Foresman's songwriting prowess shined in his recent contribution to the Brand New Day compilation CD: "Been Borrowed" was a standout both on the CD and at the Michiana Songwriter's Revue's concert. Steve's calendar is usually booked many months ahead because he and his band are in such high demand at clubs and music venues in the region Angie Foresman Keyboard & Vocals Angie began playing keyboards in a band with Steve and Byron when she was a senior in high school. After that she attended Indiana University where she was a Singing Hoosier for several years. She got her Master's Degree in Social Work at Loyola University in Chicago in 1996, and in the same year married Steve. It took a few more years before Steve convinced her to join the band again in 1998, singing and playing keyboards. Angie & Steve had their first son in February 2005. Since then, Angie has been working part-time as a mental health therapist and continues to love playing in the band on the weekends. Byron Craft Bass & Vocals Byron started playing bass in high school "because no one else would". He was recruited heavily by many adolescent bands, but was finally won by The Brothers (with fellow band mates Steve Foresman and B100's DJ Rick Hummer). Each year the band names and members continued to change (The Kids Are Alright, The Elite, The Lost Dogs), but Byron and Steve remained together. Byron has taken several hiatus's throughout the years. He attended college at DePauw University in the 90's and spent most of his time in the theater building sets, running lights and sound, and directing/producing in its several performance halls. After sowing his oats in various careers in Kentucky, Los Angeles, and Chicago, he returned to Indiana to start his family and play once again with the Steve Foresman Band. Jon Webster Drums & Backing Vocals Jon has been playing drums for over 24 years. His simple yet steady beat has driven many northern Indiana bands including The Kinetics, which was recruited by John Cougar Mellencamp, the Elwood Splinters Blues Band which was voted the #1 independent blues band in the state of Indiana in 1998, and Beat 66. He has opened for the Romantics, the Bangles, Foghat, Blue Oyster Cult, Buddy Guy, Koko Taylor, and the legendary Sugar Blue. He has also recorded with The Benders and Doug Cowen. In February 2003, Jon was asked to fill in on a few dates with the Steve Foresman Band. He eventually was offered the job of drummer in the spring of 2003. He has held down the back beat ever since. Bring your family and enjoy good music in a beautiful setting. Concessions are available.
