 till owes the King some raiding on the high seas. To Frederic's embarrassm
 ent\, the Pirate King's next target turns out to be Major General Stanley\
 , Mabel's father!  Pirates remains popular today\, taking its place along 
 with The Mikado and H.M.S. Pinafore as one of the most frequently played G
 ilbert and Sullivan operas. Its 1981 Broadway revival by Joseph Papp ran f
